History

  • WISUTEC has its roots in the Wismut SDAG, which was one of the largest uranium producers from 1946 to 1990 and, since German reunification, has been operating as a federal company carrying out one of the largest mining and environmental remediation projects in the world. The Wismut project set international standards in the closure and remediation of mining sites, especially those with radioactive contamination.
  • In 2002, WISUTEC Wismut Umwelttechnik GmbH was founded as a subsidiary of Wismut GmbH in order to market the know-how acquired in the activities of Wismut GmbH on an international scale in a both flexible and customer-oriented manner.
  • In 2010, all shares of the WISUTEC business were purchased by G.E.O.S. Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH. The company operated under the name WISUTEC Umwelttechnik GmbH from 2009 to 2020.
  • In 2021, WISUTEC Umwelttechnik GmbH was integrated into G.E.O.S. Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH as the WISUTEC branch. This set the course for a modern and sustainable joint marketing of the two companies.
