G.E.O.S. extends process plant equipment

Nanofiltration plant for water treatment with 100 square metres of membrane surface put into operation

G.E.O.S. has procured and put into operation a flexible membrane system for the filtration of aqueous solutions. The system is equipped with three 8-inch spiral wound modules and can operate in the pressure range up to 40 bar. It can be used flexibly for separation tasks in the field of ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis and will be utilised for special customer applications.

With a total membrane surface area of around 100 square metres, the system is capable of purifying several cubic metres of process liquid per hour. The system will be put to the test for the first time for the filtration of rich regenerate solutions, which are produced during the regeneration of ion exchange resins.

The plant is being installed on the G.E.O.S. company premises in Halsbrücke. It can be used flexibly and, thanks to its rack design, it can also be transported to a certain extent. Depending on customer requirements, it will be used on site for pilot tests or for other customised filtration tasks, for example for:

  • Concentration of process and waste water streams
  • Recovery of valuable components
  • Separation of monovalent from polyvalent ions in aqueous solutions
