WISUTEC develops and implements data management system for uranium mine remediation

The G.E.O.S. branch office WISUTEC has successfully completed the development of an information system for the management of data and information generated as a result of uranium mining remediation in Kyrgyzstan.

On behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna (IAEA), the system was put into operation at the Ministry of Civil Protection in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek. It is based on the AL.VIS software suite developed by WISUTEC. The information system enables the Kyrgyz colleagues to digitally manage all data, object information, photos and documents generated at the former uranium mining sites. As the project drew to a close, the ministry staff were given user training on site to familiarise them with the system.

The CLIENT II project "TRANSPOND", funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, created important conceptual guidelines for the realisation of the project.
